Welcome to our dedicated pet re-homing pages. Here you will find details of nearly all the dogs, cats and rabbits currently available for re-homing. You can also read updates on our news page regarding some of our furry friends who have already found loving homes...their stories make everything we do worthwhile and it’s a pleasure to share some of them with you.
Each of the three pet categories has its own ‘master’ page, where you can find out about our re-homing policies and criteria, the set donations we ask for and what that money helps us to fund. Appointments to view an animal can be made most afternoons by prior arrangement and we hold regular re-homing events at weekends, where the pet unit is open for all visitors to look around. Details of future events can be found on our main website and Facebook pages.
Please note that we do our very best to keep the details on this site right up to date but there may sometimes be a delay of a few days in removing a re-homed animal as the process involves various stages of communication and, in any case, we always allow a couple of days grace just in case the animal has to be returned to us for some unforeseen reason.
Many of the animals we care for come from truly desperate situations, involving cruelty, neglect and abandonment. As such, it is not always possible for us to provide you with a comprehensive history but we pride ourselves on the care we take over our animals and we like to think that we know them pretty well by the time they’re available for re-homing. You’ll be pleased to hear that our commitment to our animals doesn’t stop once they leave our care....we will always take our animals back if something doesn’t work out and we’re only ever a phone call away if you have a query, a concern or just a lovely tale to tell.
Finally, thanks for visiting our re-homing pages...there are thousands of needy pets up and down the country, waiting patiently in rescue centres of all shapes and sizes, looking for that ‘forever home’. Here at Riverside, we have more than our fair share of heartbreaking stories but, together with the help of caring people such as you, we can make a real difference to so many lives and, while we’re at it, make our community a nicer and kinder place in which to live.
With very best wishes from all at Riverside Animal Centre
